SKIP GLASGOW

A student-led, non-profit charity who send volunteers to Malawi each summer.

In 2013 SKIP embarked on a new project working with an organization called NAYO based in Nancholi near Blantyre. NAYO do fantastic work in the community and SKIP volunteers worked with the staff to get involved in several of these projects as well as setting up some of our own within the community.

SKIP aims to promote healthcare and much of the work we do involves health education in schools and communities.

SKIP sends out three teams over summer. Each team stays in Malawi for 5 weeks, with a 1 week overlap between teams however volunteers can choose to stay for longer.

Recruitment

Opens at the end of October after our information night where anyone who is interested can come along and get some more information on what the trip involves, costs, flights etc.

All students attending the University of Glasgow are welcome to apply, all you need to do is drop us an email and we shall send you an application form to complete. There will then be a short informal interview with a few members of the committee.

Volunteering with SKIP is a fantastic opportunity. If you are interested then please like the facebook page, come along to our information night in October and we'll see you there! :)
